NEST Cushion

BES Healthcare

Description

NEST Technology cushions offer superior breathability, reducing temperature and humidity for improved skin microclimate and patient comfort. They provide antimicrobial protection, excellent pressure distribution and are fully washable, reusable and lightweight, supporting infection control, sustainability and easier handling while delivering better patient outcomes for community equipment services and NHS providers. NEST cushions are made of a 3D interlocking polymer loop structure.

Indications

Patients at risk of pressure ulcers (excellent pressure distribution and microclimate control); patients with fragile skin (improved airflow and temperature/humidity regulation to aid prevention or healing); patients with limited mobility (reduces shear and friction; makes repositioning easier); bariatric patients (strong, supportive construction); patients sensitive to heat or moisture (90% air core and open loop design reduce heat and humidity).

Contraindications

Very low body weight; pronounced bony; need for significant postural support; latex or polymer allergies; need for high-friction surfaces for positioning; fully dependent patients/patients at very high-risk of pressure ulcers
