Under-mattress automatic lateral-tilt device that gently and periodically tilts the user into a 30° side-lying position alternating left and right, thereby redistributing pressure and reducing prolonged tissue loading. It is used together with the Leva Flex pressure-relief foam mattress — either the single-core or dual-core “Twin” version — to enhance pressure redistribution and reduce shear when turning or raising the bed.
People at moderate to high risk of pressure injury — including those with limited mobility, inability to reposition themselves, spinal cord injuries, paralysis, stroke-related immobility, neurological disease, or in palliative or long-term care — whether for prevention of pressure ulcers or for supporting healing in existing pressure injuries.
The system should not be used in patients with unstable fractures, severe burn injuries, or those with equilibrium/vestibular disorders that would make lateral tilting unsafe. Use caution in individuals with conditions causing severe agitation or anxiety that might be exacerbated by automated movement. Skin should be regularly inspected and clinical judgement used when applying to high-severity ulcer categories.
