A superabsorbent dressing with a fluid-repellent nonwoven backing, a core consisting of superabsorbent particles and a nonwoven wound contact layer. Mextra Superabsorbent absorbs wound exudate through the wound contact layer, retains the exudate within the core and reduce the risk for maceration. The fluid-repellent nonwoven backing acts as a barrier and prevents exudate strike-through. The soft border seal makes it comfortable to wear and conform to the contours of the body. Mextra Superabsorbent maintains its structure and integrity without becoming bulky once wound fluid has been absorbed. Mextra Superabsorbent can be used in conjunction with compression therapy for venous leg ulcers.
Designed for a wide range of wounds that are moderate to heavily exuding wounds.
Do not use in wound cavities or on patients with a known sensitivity to the dressing or its components
Soft, sterile, non-woven pad or ribbon dressing composed of Hydrofiber (sodium carboxymethylcellulose). Absorbs wound fluid and transforms into a soft gel. Provides nine times stronger tensile strength and greater absorption compared with Aquacel.
Adhesive and non-adhesive sterile Hydrofiber foam dressings consisting of a waterproof outer polyurethane film and a multi-layered absorbent pad. The adhesive version has a silicone adhesive border. The multilayer absorbent pad contains a layer of polyurethane foam and a non-woven layer of Hydrofiber (sodium carboxymethylcellulose).
