Indications

Patients at risk of developing pressure damage on bony prominences or on areas where medical devices may cause damage to the skin due to pressure. Should not be used as a wound dressing or directly on broken skin. Should be used on intact skin on areas where damage is likely to occur or where a category I pressure ulcer is already present.

The 5 layers are; 1) a soft silicone wound contact layer (Safetac), which is a unique adhesive technology which minimises pain to patients and trauma to wounds and the surrounding skin at dressing removal. Layers 2,3,4) make up a flexible absorbent pad which consist of a polyurethane foam and a non-woven spreading layer and a layer with super absorbent polyacrylate fibres. Flex cut technology within these layers allows the dressing to conform to even the most challenging of anatomies. Fluid is spread effectively within the dressing, maximising exudate management and may be left in place up to 7 days. 5) an outer polyurethane film which is vapour permeable and waterproof. The waterproof outer layer protects the wound from dirt and bacteria.
